Southern States Correctional Association members have the opportunity to be recognized for academic achievement, service to the organization and contributions to the corrections profession.

Kenneth Law Scholarship - click here for application, here for eligibility requirements. 
SSCA will award a maximum of $10,000 in college scholarships to be applied toward tuition and related academic expenses. The scholarships are given to financially assist members, their spouse or dependent children in preparing academically to work in the criminal justice field. Eligibility information and applications are published in the Association’s quarterly journal. 

David H. Williams Excellence of Service Award - click here for application, here for past winners, here for eligibility requirements.
This award is the highest commendation given by this association. It was established in 1985 in honor of the first President of SSCA. It is presented annually to a deserving member of SSCA who has distinguished themselves in the field of criminal justice and/or contributed to the professional growth and improvement of SSCA and its membership. 

Line Staff of the Year Award - click here for application, here for eligibility requirements. 
Four individuals are recognized annually who exemplify career professionalism. One award each is presented to a Probation/Parole Officer, a Correctional Officer, a Corrections Support Service Person and a Humanitarian. SSCA, through this award, recognizes the important role staff plays in the success of the correctional process and the service these individuals provide to the agencies and communities they serve. Eligibility information and applications are published in the Association’s quarterly journal.

This award is given by the association to recognize a member who has made significant contributions to the SSCA.
